Street Stories

Street Stories is where Africanskd publishes its reporting. Each piece looks at young people across Africa who are learning, training, performing, building small businesses or leading projects in their communities, and at the adults and organizations working with them.

We write for people who do this work or back it: youth workers, teachers, mentors, trainers, arts groups, funders, volunteers and researchers. So our stories go past the feel-good moment. What does the program actually teach? Who decides how it runs? What happens when the money ends?

Stories carry the byline Samuel Okello, a disclosed pen name used by our content team, and are checked against our editorial standards before they go up. We don’t invent numbers, we don’t publish details that could put a young person at risk, and we don’t tell anyone’s story without their consent.
